Norway in a nutshell is one of the most popular trips in Norway, and gives you the chance to experience the essence of the country in some hours: fjords, mountains and valleys. Sunshine, rain and (why not) snow.

The tour can start in Oslo, Bergen or Voss. It can be made as a day tour or with overnight stays in route, no matter the season of the year.

The regular NSB (National railways) train between Oslo and Bergen is amazing in itself and considered one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. The train ride goes over Northern Europe’s largest mountain plateau, Hardangervidda. No matter if it’s summer or winter, the scenery will always be stunning.

It’s a great experience to take the Flåm Railway between Myrdal and Flåm. On the 20-kilometre long train ride, you will see some of the most magnificent mountain scenery Norway has to offer. The train stops in a waterfall where you can get out of the train and breathe the pureness of mountain air. The railway tunnells were carved out by hand by the workers over a time period of 20 years.

Once in Flåm, you will have some time to visit this charming village before taking the boat to Gudvangen. You will get the chance to cross the Nærøyfjord, one of the narrowest fjords in Europe. This arm of the Sognefjord is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

When you arrive to Gudvangen, you will take the bus. In winter months, it will take you directly to Voss on the new road. If you travel between May and September, you will be able to experience the Stalheimskelva Road, wich twists and turns up offering an awesome view over the Sivlefossen and the Stalheimsfossen waterfalls.

Once in Voss, you can spend the night there or take the train directly to Bergen. What is sure is that you will never forget this trip that takes you to breathtaking sceneries and awesome landscapes!
